ABOUT US

             Talvel is a village sanctified by the omniscient Shri Chakradhar Swami. Late bhayyasaheb Dada Deshmukh established 'Shankar Pre-Secondary School' at Talvel with the aim of providing education to the poor and lower class children. It was inaugatreted  On 2nd July 1953 under the auspices of Dr. Punjabrao Upakhya Bhausaheb Deshmukh. Many children from Panchvel like Talvel, Jawala, Jainpur, Barhanpur, Kharwadi, Kharala started coming to school.

            Just like Varuna's rain satisfies the scorching heat of summer, the children eager to quench their thirst for knowledge rejoiced when the village school opened. As the number of students in the school gradually increased, secondary classes were opened and hence the name of the school was changed to 'Shankar Vidyalaya'.

       Bhayyasaheb Dada's aim was to give excellent and equal access to education for all sections of the society. In the year 2003, the organization and Shankar Vidyalaya completed 50 years. At this time, the golden jubilee of the school and the organization was celebrated with great pomp. India's first woman President Smt. Pratibhatai Patil, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra late Vilasrao Deshmukh, Minister of Textiles and Rehabilitation of Maharashtra Shri Vilasrao Kaka Patil, Hon'ble Education Minister of  Maharashtra, Hon'ble Shri Rajendraji Shingane, Founder-President of the Society Late N.S. Deshmukh. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the presence of all dignitaries. 

        Today marks the 67th anniversary of the establishment of the school and the number of students in the school is around three hundred.

         The school has a spacious building, science lab, digital classroom, school library,  gymnasium, spacious playground, various sports equipments, separate staff room and school food service; like Khichadi etc.. Under the scheme, children are happily studying in a school with separate rooms for khichdi etc.
